Funerals

A TIME OF REFLECTION AND CELEBRATION OF LIFE

One of the most emotional and challenging times in the life of any family is the passing of a loved one. We want to hold your family in prayer and offer our love and support by making available our facilities, pastoral services, and worship leadership to those experiencing loss.

STEPS TO TAKE AFTER THE PASSING OF A LOVED ONE:

  • Contact the funeral home/funeral director of your choice.
  • Call the Minister or have the funeral home be in touch with the Pastor/Church office.
  • In consultation with the Pastor, choose a date for the funeral/memorial service or reception.
  • Working together, the funeral director and the Pastor/Church office will help you, and your family, plan the details of the service.

PLANNING THE CEREMONY

Our Pastor would be present to officiate at the funeral/memorial services held in the Sanctuary. If a family desires an additional ordained member of the clergy to assist, the Pastor should first be consulted prior to contact/invitation.  The family is encouraged to make known their thoughts in regards to favorite hymns, songs, readings, or Scriptures that would be part of the service.

MUSIC

Music is often an important part of funeral/memorial services. Should you wish to have organ or piano music during the service, the Pastor/Church office will be in contact with the Minister of Music who is responsible for the musical content at any service held in the church for availability. The family may also involve other musicians or recorded music.

RECEPTION

We do our best to make Sanborn Hall available for receptions and should be discussed with the Pastor/Church office.
